Blackdown is registered by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and the home is regularly inspected to ensure that the Quality of our Care is compliant with the National Standards.
There are a number of publications that CQC produce to assist in the Assessment of Care: Essential Standards of Quality and Safety details out the Outcomes and Regulations that are inspected taken from the Act of 2008.

At Blackdown Nursing Home we care for people with Dementia, Alzheimer’s and Mental Health Problems. Our work complies with the Deprivation of Liberty Act and the Mental Capacity Act.
The home is also inspected on a regular basis by Environmental Health for Food Hygiene and Health and Safety and by Devon Fire Service for Fire Safety. All our Electrical and Water systems are regularly tested.
